In the Expert editor workspace, you can now choose to simultaneously Fade In and Out either the audio, video or both for a clip, by choosing the appropriate Fade option from the right-click menu.

Access your exported clip from the Export & Share panel

When you successfully export your video, the Export & Share panel displays the Open Folder button that you can use to navigate to the folder containing your rendered clip. The exported file uses the same name as that of your project. You can also access contextual help for each of the export formats by clicking the Help icon.

Quick access to Audio Hardware Settings

Premiere Elements displays an alert if you do not have the right audio hardware settings when recording a narration. The Alert message displays the Open Audio Preferences button that you can use to access the Audio Hardware Settings dialog box, and change your settings appropriately.

Usability enhancements and fixes

  • The CTI is automatically placed at the beginning of the sequence of clips imported from Elements Organizer into Premiere Elements.
  • You can now use the right-click option to export a Classic Title, both from the Grid view as well as from the List View of the Project Assets panel.
  • When you copy a Motion Title from the Project Assets panel, Premiere Elements creates a copy of the text layer. This means that when you change the text of the copied Motion Title, the text of the source Motion Title remains unaltered.
  • Issues with adjusting opacity of the default background for some of the Motion Title templates (WeddingLowerthirdOne, WeddingLowerthirdTwo, and WeddingLowerthirdThree), have now been fixed.
  • Clicking Download All in Motion Titles Panel downloads only those Motion Titles that belong to the selected category instead of downloading both Classic Titles and Motion Titles.
  • Premiere Elements no longer crashes when dragging and dropping the Hollywood look effect to the timeline, in the Quick View workspace.
  • Premiere Elements no longer crashes when a clip containing 5.1 Audio is imported into Premiere Elements, from Elements Organizer, and the volume is keyframed before playback.
  • For Mac platforms, graphics installed with the application that were not accessible from the Graphics panel can now be accessed with the Premiere Elements 14.1 update.
  • DVD burn failures for videos with Stop Marker in the last few frames at the end of sequence no longer occur with the latest Premiere Elements update,
  • While exporting videos with 720p resolution and 30fps frame rate, issues with incorrect fps of 60 being assigned have now been rectified.

Quick access to instant movie and video story creation

You can now choose to create an instant movie or a video story from the Premiere Elements start screen.

Pan and zoom for images in a video story

If your video story includes image assets, Premiere Elements automatically uses Pan and Zoom for these assets. You can choose to disable Pan and Zoom for all or some of the images in your video story.

Frequently used panel

Premiere Elements now features the Frequently used panel for Transitions, Titles & Text, Effects, and Audio. Use this panel to access the effects that you use most often.

Adobe Premiere Elements can capture or import video from the following devices. An updated list of tested devices can be found online.

  • DV Camcorders including miniDV camcorders. We recommend that you connect DV devices using FireWire/1394. To connect DV camcorders using USB2 instead of FireWire, verify whether your DV camcorder supports USB Video Class 1.0 driver (also called USB over DV, DV Motion, USB 2.0 DV streaming). Most DV Camcorders do not currently support this driver. The older USB streaming format common to many DV camcorders does not support sending video in the DV format over USB, and so, is not supported in Adobe Premiere Elements.
  • AVCHD Camcorders
  • HDV Camcorders
  • DVD Camcorders
  • JVC Everio and Everio G Camcorders
  • Flip and similar memory based camcorders
  • Mobile Phones - For Adobe Premiere Elements to read content on your mobile phones in the .3GP, .3GP2 and .MPEG4 video file formats, you must have QuickTime 6.5 or later installed on your computer. For Nokia phones, install the software provided with your phone.

DV Device control is disabled and capture does not proceed normally if sound card is not present, or is offline.

  • If capture is interrupted by a system event such as switching users, locking the system, or the screensaver, the duration of the captured file is much shorter than expected. We recommend that you disable the screensaver before starting capture, and avoid any action that can interfere with the capture.
  • For live capture from DV camcorders, you must first disable scene detect.
  • When importing some Flash files, a message “Flash player has stopped potentially unsafe operation' appears. Click “OK”, and the file will import normally.
  • When capturing form HDV camcorders, you sometimes see interlace lines in the preview window, The interlace lines do not appear in the captured video
  • Divx files are sometimes, not imported, and sometimes, only audio or video part of the file is imported.
  • After completing time-lapse capture, it can take some time for the Organizer to update and display the thumbnails for the captured files. Still images captured using Stop Motion are not added to the organizer.
  • Ensure that you have installed the drivers shipped with the device before you import media from them.
  • Stop Motion capture is not supported for HDV camcorders.

When reconnecting missing media, each grouped scene must be reconnected individually.

  • For HDV content, generation of thumbnails for DVD scene menus can take longer than expected.
  • Organizer sometimes exhibits performance issues with large catalogs (5000-10,000 files).
  • Voice over narration, is sometimes, not recorded when using a mono USB microphone.
  • When previewing audio mixes, pops may be heard as the CTI passes form one clip to the next. These pops are not played in your exported movie.
  • Audio mixer sliders sometimes become “sticky” when mixing clips that have been time stretched.
  • [Japanese SPECIFIC] Entering ¥ symbol in Menu templates produces a backslash ( ).
  • In Photoshop Elements, choosing “Edit in Adobe Premiere Elements” does not, sometimes, bring the Adobe Premiere Elements window to the foreground.
  • If a Photoshop Elements slideshow is sent to Adobe Premiere Elements, further edits in Photoshop Elements are not reflected in Adobe Premiere Elements.
  • Images saved in Photoshop Elements in BMP mode using Advanced Settings cannot be imported into Adobe Premiere Elements. Images include those created using Adobe Premiere Elements Freeze Frame function and sent to Photoshop Elements for editing. If the image is saved using Photoshop Elements Advanced Settings, it cannot be returned to Adobe Premiere Elements. As a result, the original, unedited Freeze Frame image is used.
  • Send to Adobe Premiere Elements 9 does not work from previous versions of Photoshop Elements.
  • Exporting movies to the root directory of any drive (For example, D:) sometimes fails.
  • When exporting movies exceeding one hour to MPEG2 format, the render dialog sometimes continues to be displayed for a period of time even after the render progress bar shows completed. Rendering continues until the render dialog box closes. Clicking Cancel before the render dialog box closes interrupts this process, and your export file is not created.
  • For playback on a portable playstation (PSP), movies must include both audio and video. Movies exported with video only or audio only do not play on the PSP.
  • You cannot archive projects with Type 1 DV-AVI files.
  • If standard definition menu templates are used when burning to Bluray, menu images of low quality are displayed.
  • When burning a Bluray disc to a previously burned disc, an error message indicating that the disc is incompatible, instead of an error message indicating the disc is full, is displayed.
